This is my attempt to celebrate some of my heroes of technology, well, a short note and some links. More to be added as and when I get round to it

Isambard Kingdom Brunel, 9 April 1806 -15 September 1859
A man of vision, brilliance and versatility, a rule breaker and innovator with the eye of an artist, his achievements helped drive this countries standing as an engineering powerhouse in a world undertaking massive change, as well as shaping the very landscape we live in today.
Over a period of some 30 years Brunel was responsible for imagining, creating, designing and building some of the greatest engineering projects of all time, including (these link to numerous sites with further information):
- Clifton Suspension Bridge
- Bristol Temple Meads station
- The class-roofed terminal of Paddington Station
- SS Great Britain
- Great Western Railway
- Box Tunnel
- Royal Albert Bridge at Saltash
